In that role I developed and maintained ETL processes to display financial information interactively using Qlik, and to inform the design of marketing campaigns using SAS. Avid for greater challenges, and perhaps to get a taste of academia, I moved to the UK to pursue a doctorate program. Since I wanted to keep aligned with Industry, I did a Doctorate of Engineering (EngD), sponsored by Canon Medical and Heriot-Watt University. In the EngD I used geometry to improve medical image processing: increasing the efficiency of segmentation with light-weight graph representations and correcting topologically wrong vessel predictions with rotational symmetry.
