I'm currently a DevOps sysadmin taking care of all type of TV backend services developed @ NOS Inovação. Before I was doing systems operation, maintenance and also implementing Microsoft platforms related to everything IPTV/OTT (and related OSS/BSS platforms) in Portugal Telecom. buzzwords: Mediaroom 2, SQL Server, AD, SQL Server, IIS, BizTalk, Powershell, PKI, ISA, ARR, smooth streaming, AppFabric, HPC, clustering, VMware, SCOM, SCCM, Hyper-V, etc.. Previously I was at Banco BEST also as a general sysadmin. Being an online bank and trading platform, uptime and performance were the utmost priority. We directly dealt with Siebel (CRM, Web, Admin, Marketing, etc.) running on a Microsoft platform (that became hybrid as time passed by) and so we had SQL Server, BizTalk, AD, IIS, VMware, Nagios, etc.. We just weren't responsible for the network and centralized storage. And before that I was a junior sysadmin at the second largest ISP in Portugal, doing basic administration and management of about 400 servers. Most of these ran Windows but we also had some *nix machines.
